Security Team

If you are interested in serving on the Security Team, please complete the 5 minute training below.  Rico will be in contact with you once you have completed the training to begin scheduling you for serving.
Welcome to South Lakes' Security Team! You are a vital part of Sunday morning by ensuring the safety of our kids and family.
You will need to complete a background check before being able to serve. If you haven't completed one yet, please contact Amber Thomas at amber.thomas@slchurch.life
One aspect of volunteering for Security is being at your posting before service begins and during the worship service. Since you will be missing out on the worship service, we want our Security to attend our Pre-Service Service at 9:15 in the worship room.
Pre-Service Service consists of a worship song, a devotional, and most importantly, prayer for the upcoming service.
After Pre-Service Service you can go to your assigned position.


When you are serving on Security you have a few responsibilities:
  1. Fill out the attendance report. The clipboard with the counting slip and the Kid's Security fob are located in the conference room on the coat hooks by the light switch. At the end of service, please return the clip board and the security fob at the end of service.
  2. Make the rounds through the Kid's wing and check in on the classrooms 3 to 4 times during service. You do not have to check in with teachers unless they flag you down and ask for assistance. Just peek in through the one way mirror and make sure everything in the classrooms are going fine.
  3. Check in on the Lobby during service. Ensure that everything is fine there too.
  4. Help classroom teachers take kids to and from the bathrooms. You DO NOT have to help in the bathroom, but you can assist in watching kids while they get a drink of water at the water fountains or wait in line outside of the bathroom while the classroom teacher assists in the bathroom. After the kids and teacher are done with the bathroom break, please open the door and let them back into the kids wing.

We use the South Lakes App to schedule our Security positions. Please be sure that you have an account on the app with a good email address. The app will send you a notification when you have been scheduled and a reminder when you have accepted a position.

You are able to edit your ability to accommodate when you will be available to serve. If you are unable to serve on a Sunday morning, please contact Amber Thomas.
